Lock group content

You can lock the content of groups to prevent other users from editing it. As long as the lock is enabled, only the user who applied it can edit the locked items.

Prerequisite

  • Locked models must be closed.

  • You have the Designer role or are a system user.

Procedure. Procedure
  1. Open the relevant database.

  2. In the Models or Objects details view, select the groups whose contents you want to lock.

  3. Right-click in the selection.

  4. Click Lock/Unlock > Lock Lock. The Lock groups dialog opens in which you can select objects for locking.

  5. Add additional groups, if necessary.

  6. To include the content of subgroups within the selected groups, enable the Include subgroups check box.

  7. To lock the models in the groups, enable the Lock models check box.

  8. To lock the objects contained in the models in addition to the model groups themselves, enable the Include objects check box.

  9. To lock the objects contained in the groups independently of the selected models, enable the Lock objects check box.

  10. Click OK. The dialog closes and the system checks whether the selected items can be locked.

When the lock is set, you will receive a message. If items cannot be locked because of the restrictions, you are notified, and you can use the Lock items dialog to display the items that could not be locked.

Locked items remain locked until you or a system user unlocks them.
